About the Filmmaker

Picture
B.R. Ram Kumar

Ram spent his entire life studying film and film making. Coming from a family of film makers, film terms were a part of his childhood.

Ram has a Bachelors Degree in Physics, a post graduate degree in film direction and a Masters Degree from CalArts in the USA. He was also with Eastman Kodak in UK on an intensive training program in Lab practices.

Ram has worked on over 400 films including documentaries, industrial films, advertising films and a feature film.

MGPL was his dream and was launched in 1981 as a servicing studio. Soon the integrated facility closed its doors to servicing, and revamped itself into a production house in 1990.

Today, the dream is to make movies on the ancient heritage, science, art and lifestyles of India.
